Checking the weekly USCIS receipting update today to see if things have moved forward at all...
(I filed at the beginning of October and because of the huge backlog at the moment have not even received a NOA1 or had the cheque cashed over 2 months later)
The site said they are still only dealing with cases sent in before the end of July - so that's eight weeks with no progress anyway. And now there is a note saying the following:
As of December 7, 2007, USCIS has completed initial data entry and issued receipt notices for applications and petitions received on or before the dates indicated:
Vermont Service Center
Form Number Date Received
All Other Forms 11/27/2007
*All I-130s received after the indicated date have been forwarded to USCIS Chicago Lockbox for data entry.
So my I-130 application has been sitting in Vermont for 2 months untouched and now is being sent to Chicago. The clock hasn't even started ticking on processing time yet. This is soooooo frustrating. I only hope that in the best case scenario this means that there are lots of people available at Chicago to process all these forms and we will see some movement. The worry is that there is more chance for the application to get lost, misplaced or end up at the back of the queue again!
Sorry to moan - but I was prepared for SCF filing to take 10-12 months, I wasn't prepared to wait for possibly three months before that wait even started!
