As I am a Permanent Resident Alien over here, but cannot be lien on the state, can someone tell me why my employer has to pay State and Federal unemployment taxes when I can't claim any benefits?!?

I would prefer that money went to my paycheck!

You can get unemployment benefits, not sure about all states, but it is like an "insurance" that you pay into, rather than some kind of welfare. After all, you can only get it if you've worked at a job for a certain period of time, been laid off through no fault of your own, the money you receive is based on what you were earning before, and you only receive it for a limited period of time.
